Registration, a play by Stage@Leeds Young Company, was performed at Migration Matters Festival 2025 on 28th June at Soft Ground in Sheffield.

Registration explores migration, stigma, and the complex issue of who is considered worthy of becoming a healthcare professional in the UK. The play tells the human stories behind the paperwork involved in obtaining license to practise for migrant and refugee nurses and doctors, based on the research findings of the Making it to the Registers project.

The event was attended by over 35 members of the public, including overseas-trained healthcare professionals. Following the performance, the play Director Steve Ansell facilitated an interactive session with the audience. Making it to the Registers project lead Marie-Andrée Jacob also engaged with the audience, addressing questions and participating in the discussion.
